Louise is an award-winning travel writer who lives in beautiful northern NSW in Australia.

Originally from Sydney, she is now trying to plant as many trees as she can to offset 20 years of travelling all over the globe – in between deadlines.

Louise is also a keen surfer and author of the world’s first women’s surfing guide, Surf’s Up: The Girl’s Guide to Surfing.

A passion for simple living and sustainable travel inspired her to start her No Impact Girl blog in 2011 and it’s still going strong, fed by her desire to have a positive impact on the world.

CAN TRAVEL CHANGE THE WORLD?

Let me answer that with one of my favourite travel quotes. “Let the world change you, and you can change the world,” said Ernesto Che Guevara after his epic motorcycle-diary ride around South America in 1951.

Let the world change you. I truly believe that we can only change the world, for the better, when we allow ourselves to be affected by it. And one of the best ways I know to be affected, to awaken a sense of wonder at how incredible this blue planet really is, is to travel – to get out of our heads and away from our screens, to experience it with all our senses. Then we can come home and do something to keep it incredible.

Every one of us can do something. Small actions, multiplied, have great power.
